2002 A New Web Site is Launched
On January 24th Rideau-Rockcliffe’s very own web site took flight.
I encourage all constituents to check it out. It is intended to
enhance our communications. The site is appropriately enough
called www.rideau-rockcliffe.com . I would like to know how you
like it and, of course, if you have any suggestions for
enhancements.

Le 24 janvier, le quartier Rideau-Rockcliffe lançait son nouveau
site web. Je vous invite à aller le visiter. Le site a été conçu
pour mieux vous servir. Le site se nomme à juste titre
www.rideau-rockcliffe.com . J’aimerais avoir de vos nouvelles
au sujet du site.
City Budget and “Charting the Course”
This year, as usual, constituents are invited to an
information evening to learn from senior staff about the main
budget proposals prior to the start of the decision making process
at Committee and Council. It is also an ideal opportunity to let
your representative know of your own priorities for city budget
provisions.
A special feature of this year’s budget meetings will be the
inclusion of discussions on the City’s proposed new growth
strategy dubbed “Charting the Course”. This strategy has the real
potential for seriously affecting your quality of life and your
property tax rates in the future. In the end, the strategy will be
your decision. Its importance can hardly be overstated.
The meeting for Rideau-Rockcliffe is scheduled for Valentine’s day
(sorry about that but the options were limited!) February 14, 2002
at the Rockcliffe Public School on Springfield Avenue (corner of
Buena Vista). Presentations will start at 7:00 p.m. I look forward
to seeing you there.
If that date is inconvenient you should know that the City, this
year, has scheduled other meetings at City Hall and at the
satellite City Halls. The dates, times and places of these
meetings can also be found on your ward web site. They will also
be publicized in the newspapers. Alternatively, my office would be
pleased to inform you of the most convenient meeting.
